2017 VSCDA Fall Vintage Festival
This photo journal features 20 images captured on IMPOSSIBLE Project SX70 color Polaroid film. Road America hosts three vintage race weekends every year and I've been wanting to capture an event with analog film. I grew up with film cameras but didn't become serious about photography until well into the digital revolution. I've been using instant film, on occasion for the last two years. The disciplines and practices of film photography, though somewhat simplified by Polaroid style cameras, has been a humbling experience.
I only attending the Sunday afternoon events of the 2017 VSCDA Fall Vintage Festival at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WIsconsin, but was able to capture a variety of scenes. One of the things I love about vintage racing is that the drivers and crews have as much character as the cars.
